Many times when I am speaking to friends and family I get asked the same question: “What can I Do to help?”. It is usually followed by a full blown explanation about how the person doesn’t really know how to handle themselves around kids with special needs; or subsequently their parents. I made this little video to help out!
The answer is YOU! Even if you have no idea what you are doing! Even if you don’t know what to say or do. You can try to understand. We need YOU. Your love and support, you to listen and not judge. We need you to just love us through it! Maybe even do some dishes, help out with a sibling so a parent can take a nap. You can just ask, we are still human.
